programme of talks, often illustrated, is arranged for members in Winter, Autumn and Spring months each year, and visits are made in Summer months to other towns, villages or places of interest. Members of the public are always welcomed to attend such events, with the request made for a small donation to support the Society’s voluntary work. Our meetings are monthly, always on the second Wednesday at 7.30pm, Victoria Centre, Victoria Park, Bridgwater, TA6 7AS, with the December meeting being our Xmas Social.

All are welcome to Membership of the Society.

The Society is concerned with the protection of our past heritage, encouragement of sensitively designed buildings and care for our local Conservation Areas. It keeps in close touch with the District Planning Authority, in the interests of securing the highest standards of planning and architecture.

The Society has undertaken a number of practical projects over the years. These have enhanced the built environment of Bridgwater and the District.

The work of others in achieving enhancements to the local built environment is recognised by the Society’s Environmental Enhancement Award scheme.
